Scarlet
New era, new machine. Introducing: SCARLET.
My PC of 13 years had been on a rapid decline, and recently ran into critical malfunctions that began holding up production. Not gonna lie, saying goodbye to that computer was more emotional than I expected. There was a lot of sentimental value tied to it. It was the first PC I had ever owned for myself, the first I'd ever upgraded myself, and the first I ever edited films on. Edeneth, Resident Roleplay, Hypercube… All of these defining works started life on that computer. It served me faithfully through California, Pennsylvania, and the transition to Oklahoma. Heck, I even met my wife on that machine! But with its inability to finish my latest film, I knew, tragically, it was time to move on…
Building a new rig proved emotionally, financially, mentally, and physically challenging. Especially in the midst of the Christmas season. But I knew I needed it. It's been a long time coming, and being in the early stages of marriage in a new part of the country, it's a poetic time to sunset the machine of my youth.
I'm very excited for the result. I am not the best or most experienced builder, but I’m proud to say Scarlet represents the first PC I've built entirely from scratch, completely on my own (with assistance from Hailey and her tiny hands). Her specs dwarf my former workstation in almost every department. I’m going to miss my old machine. But I look forward to a new era of creativity powered by Scarlet.
